Land Rover Defender Enthusiasts
The month of May was one of adventure for Land Rover Defender enthusiasts. The 2017 Defender Trophy took place in the scenic Limpopo province, between the Luvuvhu and Limpopo rivers in the remote Pafuri wilderniss. This overland experience took the 25 vehicle convoy across the Thamavudzi mountains, entering at the Makuya sector of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park. Resting place for the first evening was the bushcamp at Awelani Lodge, the thrill was sleeping in the bush with the knowledge that the Big 5 were roaming close by!
Day 2’s itinerary included crossing the Mutale river and exiting the park at the Kruger National Park’s Pafuri gate. The route on the final day of the experience took them along the Madimbo corridor, from where they entered the Limpopo riverbed, which forms the boundary between South Africa and Zimbabwe. BFGoodrich was a proud sponsor of this overland adventure experience.
