For the past 16 years, the aim of Voetspore has been to introduce South African viewers to new, relatively unknown destinations. The initial focus has been on Africa, with Johan Badenhorst and his team driving more than 300 000 kilometres over the continent of Africa , visiting 40 countries during this time. To their viewers, both local and international, the Voetspore team have become one of the most trusted sources of exploring destinations off the beaten track. They have made a household name for themselves by showcasing more than 150 hours of televised programmes; countless YouTube videos; talks at church groups; schools; fundraisers; distribution of thousands of DVD’s and more than 128 000 followers on their Facebook page.

After deciding that it was time to leave the African continent, they took on Madagascar in 2016. Next up, the team decided to introduce their viewers to other member countries of BRICS. BRICS is an acronym for the association of the 5 major emerging national economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. India was first on their BRICS list, with this expedition running from 15 April to 15 July 2017.
